DENTAL ANESTHESIA

Lucia Santos is a current second-year dental anesthesiology resident at the University of Toronto, where she had previously completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She is also conducting research at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) where she studies neonatal pain management with a focus on the use of oral sucrose as an adjunctive agent. Lucia Santos has spent the past few years involved with the community where she held events to provide dental care to those with financial obstacles and to those with intellectual disabilities. Her hope is to use sedation as a tool to provide dental care for those who would otherwise be unable to receive treatment.
